WWF Program Management Standards
The WWF Program Management Standards are a WWF Network-wide initiative, supported by offices in the U.S., United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The standards were developed by WWF, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and other members of the Conservation Measures Partnership with support from USAID and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. In collaboration with TNC, WWF trains conservationists to use the standards around the world.
The WWF Program Management Standards address the critical steps in the development and implementation of conservation programs:
- Identifying stakeholders and key partners
- Determining overall scope and vision
- Setting biodiversity targets
- Assessing threats and opportunities
- Creating strategies, goals, objectives and activities
- Performing capacity and needs assessments
- Evaluating financial needs and shortfalls
- Monitoring, analysis and adaptation
The WWF Standards are fully described in an overview located on WWF-International's website. These pages also include detailed resource guides for each of the principal outputs of the standards, as well as tools, templates and examples of best practices.
