A Boat to Transform Travel on the Amazon

At the end of August, WWF travelers will board a new, custom-designed riverboat to explore the Amazon. The riverboat, aptly named La Estrella Amazonica, is designed to provide travelers with the best voyage through the Amazon. Let’s take a look at the five unique features that make this new riverboat an innovative way to travel the Amazon.

  1. Find your own sanctuary on the Amazon. Cruising down the Amazon, every moment is a new scene on nature’s stage. Each cabin has the best seat in the house: a private balcony. There is no better way to unwind than watching the river banks sail by.

  2. Broaden your horizons. Experience the the largest open-air deck in the Amazon. The Observation Deck is the perfect place to mingle with fellow travelers and soak in the lush vegetation as you adventure through the Amazon. Enjoy a drink or two from the deck’s bar as you scan the waters for pink dolphins.

  3. Share the experience. Four cabins on the boat can be converted to create adjoining suites, a perfect feature for families. This transforms the already large 190 sq. ft. cabins into an even larger suite.

  4. Reinvigorate your body. Just because you are on vacation does not mean you have to give up your fitness routine. The new riverboat features an on-board fitness room with stair climbers, stationary bikes, and weights. The fitness room is conveniently located next to the bar, allowing you to take a much-deserved break after your work out.

  5. Reinvigorate your mind. Naturalists accompany every voyage and lead daily discussions onthe latest conservation work within the rain forest. When traveling with WWF, you will be accompanied by a handpicked expert. Accompanying the August 2013 voyage is WWF Expert Eric Swanson, the Managing Director of Conservation Finance and Strategies. These experts will enrich your travels as talk about teach you about the wonders of the Amazon and the work that goes into protecting it.
