Butterflies in the Rain Forest of Irian Jaya, Indonesia

After the butterflies emerge from the pupa phase, they are killed and sent directly to clients all around the world, or they are mounted for display and domestic sales. While there are three to six species that make up the bulk of YBLBC's sales, a whole range of butterflies are found and farmed in the Arfak Mountains. This is just a sample of the diversity.
