BSP's Africa & Madagascar Program

Protected Area Conservation Strategy

Strengthening capacity of protected area managers.

The Protected Area Conservation Strategy (PARCS) project's goal was to improve the conservation of Africa’s biodiversity by expanding the capacity of natural resource management authorities to manage their protected area systems effectively. In Phase One of the project, an in-depth assessment of training needs and opportunities of protected area agencies was completed; in Phase Two, the identified needs were addressed through training programs and production of training materials.
