BSP's Latin America & Caribbean Program

BSP's Latin America & Caribbean (LAC) program worked to conserve the region's biodiversity, filling geographic and thematic gaps in conservation not covered by its consortium partners. Much of BSP's work centered on technical assistance, training, and capacity-building, but BSP also played an important role in facilitating participatory processes for identifying conservation priorites in the region. Advances were made in implementing integrated conservation and development projects and in developing the state of knowledge about the conditions under which such projects succeed.
