    Alumni Program

Since 1994, EFN has supported hundreds of dedicated conservationists from Africa, Asia and Latin America. To build on its success as a capacity-building program in conservation, EFN started an alumni program as a way to connect our growing alumni (former grantee) network. The EFN Alumni Program offers a number of services, including EFN News, a directory, and alumni support grants.

Former grant recipients are eligible for a variety of benefits through the EFN Alumni Program, depending on the type of EFN grant you received. Please refer to the chart to determine which benefits you are eligible to receive.

EFN News: A semi-annual newsletter that provides information about current EFN grantees and alumni, WWF activities, networking opportunities, resources, conferences, and more. All past issues of EFN News are now available online. Grantees and alumni interested in contributing to the next issue of EFN News should contact Stephanie Eisenman at stephanie.eisenman@wwfus.org.

EFN Directory: Each year, EFN compiles a directory of EFN scholars and fellows so that grantees and alumni may connect with one another on areas of common interest. Please keep EFN informed of any address changes by sending an email to efn@wwfus.org so that you can continue to receive EFN materials and services.

Alumni Grants: Russell E. Train Scholars and Fellows who have earned a degree through EFN AND have completed their two-year work requirement are eligible to apply for an alumni grant. Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Grant requests may not exceed US $3,000 and alumni must observe a three year waiting period before requesting another grant. Funds may be used to attend conferences, workshops, and short-term training courses offered by universities and other institutions or to conduct research within an EFN focal ecoregion. If you are interested, please contact Mercedes Gonzalez or click here for more details.
