ASHLEY MELISSE ABESS is a founding partner of ThinkLAB, a family enterprise with interests in aviation, real estate development, agriculture, silviculture and fixed income. ThinkLAB works closely with organizations that support environmental protection and preservation and is committed to responsible, sustainable practices with a goal of improving the communities in which it works. She is also the cofounder of INFRACULTURE, the premier year-round resource for cultural happenings in Miami. In 2005, upon completing her degree in design management at Parsons School of Design, Abess cofounded CHRIS BENZ, a designer-level women’s ready-to-wear fashion line, and served as president until 2010. Abess is a Young Leader of United Way of Miami-Dade and maintains active involvement in several other nonprofit organizations, including Human Rights Watch and Experience Aviation. She serves as an advisor to the Leonard and Jayne Abess Center for Ecosystem Science and Policy at the University of Miami, is the vice-chair of the board of the Wolfsonian-FIU museum, and is a founder at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
