Suzanne Apple, of Atlanta, Georgia, serves as Senior Vice President of Private Sector Engagement at World Wildlife Fund-U.S. In this role, she leads the business engagement activities for WWF-US including work around responsible procurement and sustainable business practices. This includes work with Procter & Gamble, Sodexo, McDonald’s, Wal-Mart and others. In addition, she leads and manages WWF-U.S.’s largest corporate partnership with The Coca-Cola Company, which was recently renewed through 2020. Suzanne serves as WW-U.S.’s representative on WWF International’s Global Partnerships Committee, an international governance body for the WWF Network.
Prior to her role in Business & Industry, Suzanne served as acting Senior Vice President of Partnerships and Policy and as a Senior Fellow with WWF’s Global Forest Program. She helped launch the Global Forest and Trade Network in North America and managed corporate partnerships with U.S.-based corporations engaged in the global procurement of wood and wood products.
Suzanne served as Vice President, Community Affairs and Environmental Programs for The Home Depot from January, 1992 until October, 2002, where she managed the company’s annual community relations and charitable contributions budget of over $30M, and its sustainability and environmental programs. The company was ranked number one in corporate social responsibility in the 2001 Harris Interactive/Wall Street Journal survey on corporate reputation. Overall, the company rose to fourth in corporate reputation. She joined The Home Depot after a career in the banking and finance, corporate marketing and communications.
Suzanne serves as a Trustee of The Atlanta Girls School.
