Cost: Prices are per person, based on double occupancy: category 1: $8,650; category 2: $9,230; category 3: $9,580; category 4: $10,150; category 5: $11,990; category 6: $13,990; category 7: $15,990. Solo occupancy rates (in categories 2 and 3 only): category 2: $11,540; category 3: $11,980. Triple occupancy in category 3 only. Travelers under age 18 take $500 off.

Number of participants: The ship's capacity is 110 guests.

Included: Accommodations aboard ship; two hotel nights in Oslo; meals as indicated in the itinerary; transfers for those on recommended group flights; all shore excursions, sightseeing and entrance fees; service charges and taxes; gratuities except to ship’s crew; services of ship’s doctor and an expedition leader; WWF staff representative with 15 participants; and comprehensive pre-departure materials.

Not included: All flights; independent transfers; passport fees; travel insurance; meals not indicated in the itinerary; personal expenses such as telephone/fax/email charges; voyage DVD; gratuities to the ship’s crew; excess baggage fees; alcoholic beverages; and anything not specifically mentioned as included.

Deposit: A deposit of $1,000 per person, payable by credit card or check made out to WWF, confirms your space. A completed waiver of liability form is due within 14 days of registration. The final balance is due 90 days prior to departure and is payable by credit card or check made out to Lindblad Maritime Enterprises, Ltd., WWF’s tour operator for this program.

Cancellations & refunds: Cancellation must be received in writing at WWF, by postal mail, email or fax. At the time we receive your written cancellation, the following per-person penalties will apply: On or before February 21, 2013: $150. February 20 through March 23, 2013: Deposit. March 22 through April 22, 2013: 25% of trip cost. April 21 to May 22, 2013: 50% of trip cost. On or after May 21, 2013: No refund. Once the expedition has departed, there will be no refunds for any unused portions of the trip. This policy also applies to the extensions and to any independent travel arrangements made in conjunction with this program. Cancellation could result in the loss of 100% of your tour cost.

Singles & shares: Limited singles are available at the quoted single rates above. Additional single spots may be available. We will be happy to attempt to make a roommate match for those who choose.

What to expect: To fully enjoy the wildlife-viewing opportunities this program offers, travelers should be fit and in good health. You should be able to walk over uneven terrain and get in and out of Zodiac landing craft unassisted. Some landings will be wet—Wellington-style boots are essential. We don’t expect rough seas along this coastal region at this time of year, but conditions can never be guaranteed. Travelers susceptible to motion sickness should plan to bring preventatives.We anticipate being able to do all activities listed in the itinerary; however, the schedule will be dictated by weather, tides and wildlife viewing.

Getting there & getting home: Airfare is not included in the cost of the tour. Round-trip Newark/Oslo: Economy from $1,250; Business from $2,300; Charter flights Oslo/Longyearbyen/Oslo: $725 per person. Lindblad can book your flights; a $50 per person service fee would apply. Trip insurance: Trip cancellation insurance is highly recommended; information will be sent to registrants. Exclusions for preexisting medical conditions may be waived with the prompt purchase of travel insurance.

Understandings & responsibilities: In order to offer wildlife-oriented travel experiences to its members, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has arranged for an independent Tour Operator(s) to organize this tour and procure carriage, accommodations, and other tour services from other parties. WWF serves only to assist in making necessary travel arrangements and in no way represents, or acts as agent for, transportation carriers, hotels, or any other suppliers of services connected with this tour. Travel and services are subject only to the terms and conditions under which such accommodations, services, and transportation are offered or provided, and WWF and its employees accept no responsibility or liability therefore. WWF and the Tour Operator(s) accept no responsibility for any damage, loss, accident, injury, delay, or other irregularity which may be caused by the defect of any vehicle or the negligence or default of any company or person engaged in carrying out or performing any of the services involved in this tour. Nor do WWF or the Tour Operator(s) accept responsibility for losses or expenses due to sickness, weather, strikes, political unrest, wars, or other such causes. Any such losses or expenses must be borne by the participant, since tour rates provide for arrangements only for the time stated. WWF and the Tour Operator(s) reserve the right to make changes in the published itinerary whenever, in their judgment, conditions warrant, or if they deem it necessary for the comfort, convenience, or the safety of the tour. They reserve the right to withdraw without penalty any tour announced. WWF and the Tour Operator(s) also reserve the right to decline to accept any person as a member of the tour, or to require any participant to withdraw from the tour, at any time, if such action is determined by the appropriate staff member to be in the best interest of the health, safety, and general welfare of the tour group or the individual participant Under such circumstances, no refund will be made. Baggage and personal effects are solely the responsibility of the owners at all times. Dates, schedules, program details, and costs, given in good faith, based on information available and in force in June 2012, are subject to change and revision. As a condition to acceptance of enrollment, please read, agree to, and sign the Waiver of Liability that will be sent upon registration.
