The Kathryn Fuller Science for Nature Fund

2006 Science for Nature Symposium:

Ecosystem services

WWF hosted the inaugural Science for Nature Symposium in Washington, DC October 31 - November 1, 2006. The symposium focused on ecosystem services and how to harness their value to conserve biodiversity and enhance human well-being.

The 2006 symposium launched two new initiatives:

  • WWF's Kathryn Fuller Science for Nature Fund which focuses on harnessing science results for biodiversity conservation through the annual symposium, seminars, fellowships and a visiting scholars program.
  • The Natural Capital Project, a unique collaboration among WWF, TNC, and Stanford University to make ecosystem services a mainstream and operational force for conservation
