Starting mid-2007, The Kathryn Fuller Science for Nature Fund will provide opportunities for senior scientists to connect their work more strongly to conservation practice through its Visiting Scientists program. Visiting Scientists will work in close collaboration with WWF scientists and conservationists and will be encouraged to spend their time at WWF offices and field locations.
Paul J. Ferraro is a professor in the Department of Economics at Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. He is the Kathryn Fuller Science for Nature Fund Visiting Scientist and a Senior Science Fellow at the World Wildlife Fund. He is also serves as the Biodiversity Science Advisor of the Global Environment Facility. Dr. Ferraro’s research focuses on the design and evaluation of cost-effective environmental policies and institutions, and the use of experiments to study human behavior and decision-making. He is a collaborating author on the 2005 Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, and his research appears in journals such as Conservation Biology, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Land Economics, PLoS Biology, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Science and Trends in Ecology & Evolution.
