Areas of Expertise: Landscape Ecology, Conservation GIS, Conservation Biology, Habitat Modeling

© WWF

Erin joined the Conservation Science Program in the fall of 2010.  At WWF, Erin provides GIS support to the WWF network. She is working closely with the Tigers Alive Initiative to develop a tool that landscape managers and developers alike will use to quantify the risk of future infrastructure projects to tiger habitat across the remaining tiger range. She is also modeling habitat connectivity in the Northern Great Plains to identify seasonal migration corridors. As part of this work, she’s developing a method to model fences across much of Montana. This innovative work will be invaluable to identifying threats to habitat connectivity of priority species such as sage grouse and pronghorn. Erin has a Masters of Environmental Management in Ecosystem Science and Conservation and a Certificate in Geospatial Analysis from Duke University. She received a B.S. in Biology and Psychology with a minor in Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh.

"We must decide how many of Earth's 15,000,000 species receive a ticket on the ark to the next century. By protecting forests, deserts, grasslands, coral reefs, lakes, rivers and streams, WWF commits to guaranteeing their safe passage."
