Kate Graves returned to WWF in 2011 to manage the Conservation Science Network and the Kathryn Fuller Symposium and Seminar Series, but originally began collaborating with WWF's Southeast Rivers and Streams Ecoregion in 2003 and 2004 as a Program Coordinator for the Tennessee Conservation Voters. Most recently, as the Program Director for Island Press she managed the creation and launch of the Climate Adaptation Knowledge Exchange, coordinated event strategies with Island Press' institutional partners, and planned the first Western Conservation Finance Camp at Stanford University. From June 2007 to September 2008, Kate served as the Southeast Climate Program Officer at WWF and managed the Allianz Southeast Climate Witness Youth Leadership Program attended by 24 high school students who had been displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
Kate received a B.A. in Anthropology from The University of the South, and a M.S. in Environmental Policy from Michigan Technological University. Her masters research focused on the risk perception of natural hazards by communities living in hazard zones, spefically volcanic hazard zones in Ecuador and Guatemala.
