Bernhard Lehner joined the WWF Conservation Science Program in January 2002. He supports the freshwater conservation team both in all GIS related issues and in questions of hydrology and climate change. He received degrees in Geography and Physics (B.S.) and Hydrology (M.S.) from the University of Freiburg, Germany, in 1999. Before joining WWF-US Lehner worked as a research assistant at the University of Kassel, Germany, where his main responsibilities included a 3-year study entitled: 'EuroWasser - Model-based assessment of European water resources and hydrology in the face of global change.' Within his work at WWF, he aspires to integrate more hydrological aspects into freshwater biodiversity conservation.
