Sheri Stephanson joined the Conservation Science Program in 2007 as part of the Conservation Measures Team. As the Program Officer for Social Measures, Sheri is developing conceptual frameworks for measuring the social aspects of large-scale conservation and providing technical assistance to field staff implementing it. She is also working with the Measures Team to develop a long-term plan to integrate Conservation Measures into all of WWF's work. Prior to joining WWF, she worked for Conservation International, conducting quantitative and qualitative evaluations of the Healthy Communities Initiative and the BP Conservation Programme. She also served as the Director of Operations at the Grameen Foundation, which promotes microfinance as a tool for poverty alleviation around the world. Sheri has lived and worked throughout Latin America and is fluent in Spanish. She has also traveled extensively - for work and play - in various parts of the globe. Sheri received a Master of Science and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington, where she focused on natural resources management in the international arena. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish at Northern Arizona University.
