Nike+ Human Race
On August 31, 2008, Nike will conduct the Nike+ Human Race, a series of 10-kilometer road running races in 25 cities around the world, including 4 in the U.S. Aligning with three global charities -- including WWF -- Nike is using the Human Race to allow participants to run for a global cause. As this will be the largest global event Nike has ever hosted, WWF will be able to highlight its work to reduce the impacts of climate change to people around the world.
In the U.S., runners can register at www.nikeplus.com and choose to participate on August 31 at race events in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago or Austin, TX.
Or register at www.nikeplus.com to run where you live. By running in your city or town on August 31, you can track your miles online with Nike+.
Nike is committing a minimum donation of $500,000 to each charity, plus it’s contributing an additional amount to a “Vote with Your Feet” initiative at its web site. As runners train and run the Nike+ Human Race, mileage logged via nikeplus.com and at city races will count towards this initiative and increase the potential donation WWF can receive from this program.
U.S. runners can also join a regional challenge to track miles online and help support WWF. Join the Challenge.
