Trip Overview

Rising majestically above the African plains, the 20,000-foot Mt. Kilimanjaro has drawn climbers from around the globe for years. Its size is immense, but the summit is surprisingly accessible to fit climbers. This is a non-technical, supported climb that starts at the Londorossi Gate at 5,900 feet. Tour highlights include:

  • Treks through dense rain forests that are home to black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys and an array of exotic birds.
  • An ascent through the lush rolling hills below the Shira plateau, one of the highest plateaus on earth at 12,500 feet.
  • A descent into the majestic Great Barranco Valley and scramble up the steep "Barranco Wall."
  • Camping at comfortable sites popular among Kilamanjaro trekkers.
