June 6 –19, 2009

Tour brochure and program rates coming soon.

Trip Overview

Mongolia is an ideal wildernesses for exploring natural history, diverse ecosystems and distinct wildlife. This nature journey allows you to explore the vast beauty of the country from the Gobi Desert to stunning Lake Hovsgol, which sits among pristine mountains, forests and meadows.

Some of the tour's highlights:

  • See the famous Flaming Cliffs, the site where, in 1922, scientists discovered the first nest of dinosaur eggs the world had ever seen.
  • Visit Hustain Nuruu National Park, a highly successful environmental conservation project aimed at reintroducing the wild horse called the takhi back to the central Mongolian plateau.
  • Meet with nomadic families, whose way of life has hardly changed over the centuries.
  • Have an authentic Mongolian experience by sleeping in gers—the traditional felt tents of nomadic herders—while in the countryside. Eco-lodges and hotels are included in the itinerary, too.
