Learn about WWF's work in Nepal

Trip Overview

The Khumbu, better known as the Everest Region, is deservedly one of the most popular trekking areas in Nepal, not only for its spectacular views of the world’s highest peaks and mammoth glaciers but also for the Sherpa people’s friendly hospitality.

On WWF’s trek to the Everest region, hike along the Dudh Koshi (“Milk River”) to bustling Namche Bazar and the tranquil Thame Valley. Visit centuries-old monasteries, a hospital established by the late Sir Edmund Hillary and a museum documenting the rich cultural and natural history of the area. Also learn about WWF’s work in Nepal.

Note that this trek is considered moderately difficult because of the gains in elevation you’ll experience on most days. You will spend most nights camping in two-person tents; at Namche Bazar you will stay at a modern lodge run by a Sherpa family. Assistant guides and staff will accompany you along the trek and at camps.
