Not included: Travel to and from Quito; roundtrip flights between Quito and the Galapagos (to be added to your invoice); most gratuities; alcohol; Galapagos tax and transit card ($110 for adults, $60 for children under 12; prices subject to change; monies collected in advance), airport departure tax ($40 as of August 2011; payable by individual travelers upon departure); items of a personal nature (phone calls, laundry, etc.); travel insurance; optional activities; anything else not specifically mentioned as included.

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of $500 per person, payable by credit card or check made out to WWF, confirms your space. A signed waiver of liability is due within two weeks. The final balance is due 90 days prior to departure. For those who paid their deposits by credit card, the final balance will be charged automatically on that date to the credit card on file for you. For those who wish to pay the final payment by check, the check is due on or before 90 days prior to departure and should be made out to Natural Habitat Adventures, WWF’s tour operator for this program. If your payment is not received by the due date, the reservation is subject to cancellation.

Cancellations & refunds: Cancellation must be received in writing at WWF, by postal mail, email or fax. Cancellations made within 45 to 90 calendar days prior to departure will result in a loss of 50% of the entire program fee, including extensions. Cancellations made within 44 calendar days prior to departure will result in a loss of the entire program fee.

Singles & shares: Travelers who would prefer a single room may have one at a single-room surcharge of 1.25 times the regular rate on a first-come, first-served basis. We cannot always guarantee single accommodations even after reservations and confirmations have been made. We will be happy to attempt to make a roommate match for those who choose; if one is not available, you will not be charged the single supplement for the boat portion of the trip, but you will be required to pay $315 supplement for the land portion of the program.

What to expect: Rating: easy/moderate and flexible. The activities on this trip consist of island walks, swimming and snorkeling. Trails can be rough and uneven, and walking over slippery rocks is sometimes necessary when coming ashore. Passengers must be able to walk one mile to participate in this trip, and be able to get in and out of our motorized pangas, which can be very unsteady in rough water. A few wet landings, where we disembark from the panga directly into the water and walk up onto the beach, are included. Snorkeling can be a big component of this trip with nearly daily excursions offered (no experience required). Travelers are not required to participate in every activity.

Getting there & getting home: Plan to arrive in Quito anytime on Day 1 and depart anytime on Day 11. It is recommended that Natural Habitat Adventures makes flight reservations for you as its air specialists are intimately familiar with the special requirements of this program and can arrange the most efficient and cost effective travel. Please call 800-543-8917.

NHA will make the flight arrangements between Quito and Ecuador for all travelers on this tour and will charge for your the cost. The approximate cost as of August 2011 is $430 for adults and $230 for children 11 and younger. Prices subject to change

Trip insurance: We highly recommend that travelers protect themselves by participating in an accredited travel insurance protection plan. Natural Habitat Adventures will include a quote for a non-refundable, full coverage travel protection plan on the invoice you receive immediately after booking your trip; you may decline this insurance, if desired. More information will be sent to registrants.
