Saturday, March 24: Iquitos / Lima
Late this afternoon, fly from Iquitos to Lima and spend the night, having the evening and dinner on your own. Costa del Sol (B,L)

Sunday, March 25: Lima / Cusco / Urubamba
Fly to Cusco, the heart of the Inca Empire. Leave for the Urubamba Valley, dotted with Andean markets and Inca ruins. Aranwa Hotel (B,L,D)

Monday, March 26: Urubamba / Machu Picchu
After breakfast, take a train to Machu Picchu, known as the “Lost City of the Incas,” and spend the afternoon. Machu Picchu’s existence was virtually forgotten until its rediscovery by Hiram Bingham in 1911. Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel (B,L,D)

Tuesday, March 27: Machu Picchu
Return to Machu Picchu in the morning to explore the complex, perhaps climbing to the Sun Gate. Return to the hotel to enjoy its nature trails, waterfalls, tea plantation and orchid garden. Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel (B,L,D)

Wednesday, March 28: Ollantaytambo / Sacsayhuamán  /  Cusco/
Travel to the Sacred Valley via train and bus. Explore Ollantaytambo, where ancient temples and fortresses were built to protect the Sacred Valley. Enjoy a traditional lunch before a show by Paso Fino horses at Wayra Ranch. Explore Sacsayhuamán, a fortress of massive stones that zigzag across the side of the mountain, before arriving in Cusco. Thursday, March 29: Cusco
Stroll the streets of Cusco, visiting the sacred temple, cathedral and convent at Koricancha. The afternoon is free to explore on your own before a farewell dinner featuring traditional Andean dishes. Aranwa Hotel (B,L,D)

Friday, March 30: Cusco / Lima / En Route
Fly to Lima. Enjoy a group lunch and the afternoon at leisure before transferring to the airport for flights home. (B,L)

Saturday, March 31: U.S.
Arrive in the United States and connect with flights home. (Meals aloft)
