WWF's Conservation Finance program raises long-term sustainable financing for WWF consevation priorities around the world. Drawing on our investment and business management expertise, WWF consolidates gains made through traditional tools like debt swaps and trust funds while building the next generation of conservation-finance models that can be replicated in every corner of the world.
These models are designed to channel money into conservation based on sound legal and financial policies and management structures. Examples include but are not limited to:
- payment for ecosystem services including carbon offset and watershed management
- conservation trust funds
- debt-for-nature swaps
- tourism based revenues
- conservation corporations and environmental investment funds
