Corporate Partnerships

We only have one Earth. Join us in sustaining it.

Corporations play a unique role in helping to protect the planet. While no business or conservation organization can accomplish this task alone, when we combine and leverage our individual strengths, we can forge extraordinary change. Together, we can accomplish great successes on behalf of the Earth.

Philanthropic collaboration
In a philanthropic collaboration, corporations provide funding to help support specific WWF conservation initiatives and the local communities they serve.

A company may choose to fund an initiative directly related to their work. For example, a paper company may fund a forest restoration project. Or they may choose to fund an initiative that is not specifically related to their work, but which they and their employees find meaningful.

In both cases, WWF works with companies to ensure their philanthropic conservation grants accomplish lasting solutions that will benefit species, people and the environment.

Sustainable business collaboration
In a sustainable business collaboration, WWF works with companies to assess their environmental impact and build a strategic plan to reduce that impact in a way that will advance both conservation and the company’s business objectives. Such collaborations are aimed at building long-term sustainability within supply chains and tipping key global markets towards sustainability.

Sustainable business collaborations can be approached in one of two ways, either targeted or transformational.

  • Targeted approach: A company works with WWF to build sustainability into a specific area of its overall business. For example, a company may wish to focus on energy efficiency, emissions reduction, or supply chain management of specific commodities.
  • Transformational approach: A company works with WWF to make broad changes in their business practices, building sustainability into multiple areas. This approach is designed to create significant improvements in operational efficiency and sustainability across the company—from office to plant to supply chain—ultimately resulting in a greatly reduced environmental impact on the planet.

Cause marketing collaboration
In a cause marketing collaboration, WWF engages with corporations to develop integrated consumer-facing campaigns that enable corporations and their customers to show their support and to contribute actively to conservation. These collaborations are specifically designed to increase public awareness about WWF and to generate revenue for WWF’s global conservation efforts.

A corporation is able to distinguish its products and services from those of other companies and earn favorable support from its customer base by partnering for an important cause. WWF’s cause marketing collaborations are specific and unique to each business.
