A conservation strategy for the Coastal Forest ecoregion, consisting of an agreed vision statement, conservation goals, targets and strategies, developed through the involvement of a wide range of stakeholders in 2006. Coastal forests provide a wide range of wood and non-wood products for local use, but are increasingly threatened by expanding agriculture, charcoal production, uncontrolled fires, unsustainable logging and the expansion of settlements.

The Eastern African Marine Ecoregion. Biodiversity Conservation Strategic Framework 2005 - 2025. WWF: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (2004)
The main habitats present in the ecoregion are mangrove forests, seagrass beds, coral reefs and open waters, home of over 11,000 species of plants and animals. Typically, these habitats form a mosaic along the coast, supporting rich and complex populations of marine species that rely on this diversity for their productivity. The physical, human and biological features of this region are described in this strategic framework, together with WWF’s Ecoregion Conservation approach aimed at focusing even greater attention on the Eastern African Marine Ecoregion.

Towards the Establishment of an Ecologically Representative Network of Marine Protected Areas in Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique. (2004)
A 2004 publication that analyzes networks of Marine Protected Area (MPAs) in three countries within the Eastern African Marine Ecoregion, in order to assess the effectiveness of MPAs in protecting marine biodiversity and contributing to sustainable livelihoods. 

The Eastern African Marine Ecoregion Vision: A large scale conservation approach to the management of biodiversity (2004)
This biodiversity vision report and its follow-on Conservation Strategic Framework are the result of a series of workshops organized by WWF between 1999 and 2003 using a participatory approach. The workshops gathered experts from within and outside of the Eastern African region, including representatives from governments, NGOs, academia, and other stakeholder groups to develop a vision and a conservation strategy for EAME.

Conserving the Miombo Ecoregion, Reconnaissance Summary Report (2001)
A biological and social overview of the expansive miombo woodland ecoregion that spans 3.6 million square km and 11 countries in Africa. This 2001 report follows a comprehensive reconnaissance exercise called the Miombo Ecoregion Project that began in 1999, which brought together a number of scientists from within the Southern African Region.
