About Jonathan Cook:

Jonathan Cook helps to manage the WWF-US Climate Adaptation program, which supports WWF offices and their partners around the world in making programs and plans more 'climate-smart.' He also manages a related program of work that support efforts to integrate climate change adaptation into government policies and institutions. His major area of focus is the Asia-Pacific region.

Jonathan joined the Adaptation program in early 2009 when he took over management of WWF's "Coastal Resilience to Climate Change" project, funded by the Global Environment Facility. This project, which ended in 2011, developed climate change vulnerability assessments and implemented pilot adaptation strategies for mangrove ecosystems in Cameroon, Fiji, and Tanzania.

Previously, Jonathan worked for five years with WWF's Macroeconomics for Sustainable Development Program Office (MPO) on issues of trade liberalization, agricultural development, and the environment. He also spent one year with WWF's Greater Mekong program, based in Laos, where he managed their work on agriculture and ran a major project on land use planning to reduce the impacts of large-scale land concessions.
