In FY08, with increased income from operations, a healthy balance sheet and continued revenue source diversification, WWF directed over $160 million to conservation.

Operating revenues grew to $196.5 million, a 22 percent increase over the FY07 total of $160.8 million. This growth was made possible through the contributions of our many valued supporters. We received $85.7 million from our members and donors, $26.1 million in government awards, $19.3 million from foundations, $14.6 million from other WWF Network organizations, $10.1 million from corporations, and$40.7 million in other revenues, including in-kind contributions of media and equipment important to advancing our work.

Our continued commitment to generating strong year-over-year revenue increases, and to directing those increases to programmatic activities, is compelled by the urgent need for change in the global forces and places that are the focus of our conservation strategy. We are grateful that our supporters share our sense of urgency.

We continue to hold mission support activities to a healthy level, providing a solid base for continued programmatic growth. As a result, 82 percent of total spending this past fiscal year was directed to worldwide conservation activities.

While our FY08 results are positive, the near-term outlook is less clear given the uncertain  economic climate. In past periods of economic volatility, our donors have recognized the urgency  of achieving our goals and have continued to provide the necessary resources and support to sustain our work. We are optimistic this trend will continue.
