Justification of Ecoregion Delineation

The Baltic mixed forests ecoregion is equivalent to the DMEER (2000) unit of the same name. The ecoregion is predominantly composed of the lowland to submontane beech and mixed beech forests (Bohn et al. 2000) on the eastern side of the Danish peninsula and to the north of the Elbe and Oder Rivers.
