Justification of Ecoregion Delineation

This ecoregion is equivalent to the DMEER (2000) unit of the same name. It consists of montane middle to southern hemiboreal pine forests, Atlantic dwarf shrub heaths, and one area of ombrotrophic mires in northcentral Scotland (Bohn et al. 2000).
