Justification of Ecoregion Delineation

This ecoregion is equivalent to the DMEER (2000) unit of the same name. The formation of the DMEER (2000) unit was heavily influenced by climatic criteria. This unit is dominated by Bohn et al.’s (2000) western boreal and nemoral-montane birch forests.
