Justification of Ecoregion Delineation

This ecoregion is outside of the DMEER project area and is based on the map of Bohn et al. (2000). It includes Bohn et al.’s montane eastern boreal pine-spruce and fir-spruce forests, montane hemiboreal spruce and fir-spruce forests, montane to altimontane hemiboreal and nemoral pine forests. An area of eastern boreal woodlands on the eastern flanks of the Urals is also included. These vegetation units form eastern edge of DMEER’s classification system with the western Siberian taiga continuing to the east.
