Justification of Ecoregion Delineation

This ecoregion is comprised of the islands of arctic tundra which lie between the Laptev and East Siberian Seas. Mapped ecoregion boundaries correspond to the arctic deserts on the Novosibirsk and Liakhovskii Islands in Kurnaev’s (1990) forest map of the USSR.
