3-12 June 2013: Virtual Symposium on Climate Change Adaptation for U.S. States, Tribes and Local Governments

North Carolina State University, in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is hosting from 3 to 12 June 2013 a virtual symposium on climate change adaptation for states, tribes and local governments. The series of 12 sessions "will bring together tribal, state and local stakeholders, EPA representatives, and experts from a variety of sectors to consider the impact of EPA’s new Climate Change Adaptation Plan on the implementation of federal environmental programs, and to present case studies, tools and solutions to some of the most pressing climate change adaptation challenges."

3 June 2013:

• 3:30-5:00pm: Water, Communities & Planning

4 June 2013:

• 10:00-11:30am: Adapting to Air Quality and Health Impacts of Climate Change
• 1:30-3:00pm: Achieving Resiliency to Drought
• 3:30-5:00pm: Tribal Climate Adaptation

10 June 2013:

• 11:30am-1:00pm: Incorporating Emergency Preparedness and Hazard Mitigation into Adaptation Plans
• 3:30-5:00pm: Risk Management and Insurance Strategies related to Climate Change

11 June 2013:

• 10:00-11:30am: Equity and Adaptation for Vulnerable Communities
• 1:30-3:00pm: Climate Adaptation Decision Support Tools
• 3:30-5:00pm: Successful Response to Coastal Adaptation Challenges

12 June 2013:

• 3:30-5:00pm: Climate Adaptation: the Way Forward
