Colin is WWF’s Senior Director for Renewable Energy Transitions. He came to WWF from the Department of Energy, where he managed $10.5 billion in infrastructure to support the deployment of modern clean energy infrastructure. In that role, Colin established the need for utilities and other developers to engage more meaningfully with communities, structuring the program to embed community benefits in the evaluation and execution of infrastructure projects.

Colin’s passion for this work started during his childhood in the Appalachian mountains, traveling throughout regions scarred by coal mining. These formative experiences left a lifelong impression that carried through into his 20+ years of work in clean energy. Colin’s career in clean energy advocacy has included working for clean energy developers, trade associations, and environmental non-profits. In prior roles, he’s led negotiations throughout the U.S. on clean energy policies to lower costs for ratepayers, and worked with community members to identify and reduce the impacts of transmission and clean energy development.

These experiences—combined with Colin’s desire to conserve the natural environment—are critical to his role leading WWF’s work on the renewable energy transition. He is bringing his commitment to lifting up communities alongside the development of clean energy infrastructure and applying it to building out the organization’s work to accelerate clean energy deployment in the U.S. and improve clean energy supply chains. Through innovative strategies and partnerships, these initiatives are building momentum for a sustainable, low-carbon economy.
