Kevin Allexon

Kevin Allexon is the director of US Plastics Policy & Advocacy, where he serves as a lead of the Policy & Government Affairs team’s plastic policy portfolio, executing advocacy strategies at the federal and state levels in support of WWF’s goal of No Plastic in Nature. He works with both internal partners and external stakeholders to develop policy positions and execute lobbying strategies to advance those positions, all in support of WWF’s broader conservation mission.

Kevin began his career as a congressional staffer, working for two different members of the US House of Representatives before being appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as a senior policy adviser to the Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and Administrator of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. There, he provided counsel on policy, management and budget matters related to NOAA’s fishery management and marine resource conservation missions. Kevin was a key player in the formulation of the Bush Administration’s reauthorization proposal for the Magnuson-Stevens Fisheries Conservation & Management Act, as well as its eventual passage by Congress in 2006. After leaving government service, he worked at a Fortune 500 energy company in a variety of public affairs roles. Kevin went on to join Ocean Conservancy, an environmental nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting healthy oceans, where he led the group’s federal lobbying efforts in support of policies addressing the growing global plastics pollution crisis and was an integral force in advocating for the bipartisan Save Our Seas Act and Save Our Seas 2.0 Act. Prior to WWF, Kevin was manager of Sustainable Packaging Advocacy at Nestlé USA, where he worked with federal and state policymakers to advance circular economy policies, such as extended producer responsibility and recycled content standards.
