Media inquiries:

As the deputy director of US Government Relations, Vanessa helps to identify and implement policy solutions to the world’s conservation challenges—mainly those related to forests. This includes a range of initiatives to prohibit trade in illegal timber products and incentivize responsible forest management. Vanessa also supports the policy work of WWF offices that have prioritized forestry issues, including Brazil, Indonesia, and Myanmar. In addition, Vanessa leads WWF’s advocacy on US government funding for international conservation and climate change.

Prior to joining WWF, Vanessa managed the international development portfolio for InterAction, the largest coalition of US-based international development organizations. She also led the advocacy work for Grantmakers without Borders, a philanthropic network dedicated to providing humanitarian support to the Global South.

“My journey to protect the environment began in the forest, but it has led me to the hallways of Capitol Hill.”
