AMANDA BROTMAN-SCHETRITT is the founder and designer of AMANDA PEARL, a New York City-based luxury accessories company that offers sculptural, modern jewelry and meticulously handmade-in-Italy evening bags. A Seattle native and former dancer, she trained and performed for 12 years with the esteemed Pacific Northwest Ballet before moving to New York to attend Barnard College at Columbia University, where she earned a degree in art history and visual arts. Upon graduating with honors, Brotman joined Marc Jacobs, working for four years in the technical design and production departments, honing her understanding of materials, construction, and global manufacturing. Her current work is inspired by her Pacific Northwest roots, with nods to the shaping influences that she continues to reference: nature, science, music, and the visual and performing arts. When not working, she can be found enjoying the beauty of nature’s design and inspiring those around her to conserve it.
