U.S. Climate Policy Program

Driving Ambitious U.S. Climate Policy

Climate change is a problem that cannot be solved by individual action or the efforts of any one organization or institution alone. Smart policies set climate standards, define what our collective action should be, and help create environments that lead to transformational change. Advocating for and implementing policy requires leadership from governments and a whole-of-society effort from leaders in the private sector, non-profits, community-based organizations, activist groups, educational institutions, and more. Only by working together can we reverse course on climate change and protect the environment for generations to come.

WWF’s climate policy team advocates for stronger climate policy in the United States at federal, state and municipal levels, and for leadership by the U.S. Federal Government at the international level. From preventing deforestation to promoting equitable investments in clean energy projects, and advocating for climate-aligned finance, we harness the power of science to make desperately needed protections and economy-shifting ideas into federal law, state regulation, and municipal action.
