WWF works to sustain the natural world for the benefit of people and wildlife, collaborating with partners from local to global levels in nearly 100 countries.
WWF’s Lobby Day is a two-day event that culminates with one-on-one meetings on Capitol Hill to influence lawmakers on WWF’s conservation priorities. Before taking to the Hill, participants will receive immersive training on the most effective ways of being citizen advocates, and how best to communicate WWF’s top priorities to their elected officials.
After you register for Lobby Day and are confirmed to attend, you will work closely with WWF staff to develop talking points and prepare for meetings with congressional offices.
The two-day experience kicks off on Monday, March 6th with an exciting- and in-depth training day. This training at WWF’s headquarters in Washington, DC will cover a review of how Congress functions, offer practice briefing sessions, and get a policy guide specific to the meetings they will embark on the following day. Participants will be grouped with three to five other activists with whom they’ll attend meetings on Lobby Day. A panel of WWF staff will present overall strategy and answer any questions. By the end of the day, activists will feel comfortable and confident about speaking with representatives and sharing WWF’s specific asks of Members of Congress.
On Lobby Day (Tuesday, March 7th), groups will congregate on Capitol Hill for a day of targeted meetings with legislators and their staff at the US Capitol Building where you will make the case for key WWF priorities.
WWF staff will work closely with attendees to prepare them for their congressional meetings on Lobby Day. We will review talking points, walk through personalized Lobby Day agendas, and practice within groups.
