Lobby Day 2025

March 24-25, 2025

WWF’s Lobby Day is an inspiring two-day event where you’ll have the opportunity to make your voice heard and represent WWF’s mission to protect nature and wildlife. Through your meetings with members of Congress and their staff, we’ll introduce the newly elected Congress to WWF’s key conservation issues and priorities, highlighting the importance of bipartisan solutions to address critical environmental challenges.

This year, we’ll focus on advocating for the protection of US government funding for international conservation programs, which are essential to safeguarding global ecosystems and wildlife, and which face immediate threats due to new policy changes being proposed by the incoming Administration. Right now, these programs look like they could be more vulnerable than ever. Members of Congress need to hear from their constituents that they are important and need to be protected.

You will receive comprehensive training to become effective advocates, learning how to communicate WWF’s policy priorities and share stories that resonate with lawmakers.

With new decision-makers in place, it’s more important than ever to ensure these leaders understand the urgency of conservation issues and the power of federal action to protect our planet for future generations.

Join us to amplify the voice of conservation in Washington, D.C.!

After you register for Lobby Day and are confirmed to attend, you will work closely with WWF staff to develop talking points and prepare for meetings with congressional offices.

How To Prepare for Lobby Day

The two-day experience kicks off on Monday, March 24th with an in-depth training day at WWF’s headquarters in Washington, DC. We will cover how Congress functions, offer practice briefing sessions, and review a policy guide specific to the meetings scheduled the following day. A panel of WWF staff will present overall strategy and answer any questions. By the end of the day, you’ll leave feeling comfortable and confident about speaking with representatives and sharing WWF’s main priorities.

On Lobby Day (Tuesday, March 25th) you and your group will congregate on Capitol Hill for a day of meetings with your legislators and their staff.

Become a WWF Lobby Day Team Leader

Ready to step into a leadership role? Past participants are encouraged to serve as Team Leaders, helping prepare their group for congressional meetings and acting as the main point of contact on Lobby Day.

Team Leaders will:

  • Familiarize themselves with assigned legislators’ backgrounds and positions (materials provided by WWF).
  • Guide their group from meeting to meeting on Capitol Hill.
  • Introduce their group as part of WWF’s delegation.
  • Steer meeting discussions and send follow-up emails with WWF-provided materials.
  • Report back to WWF on how meetings went.

Team Leaders aren’t required to do all the talking—discussions should be driven by all participants sharing their personal perspectives and WWF’s key messages.
