Thank you for your interest in WWF—and welcome to our US headquarters!

World Wildlife Fund was established in 1961 by a group of passionate and committed individuals who sought to secure the funding necessary to protect places and species threatened by human development. This building has housed WWF’s US headquarters since 1986. Designed to conserve resources, limit waste and pollution, and make wise use of donated funds, the building is quadruple LEED Platinum Certified and has one of the largest green roofs in Washington, DC. While we don’t offer in-person tours, we invite you to take a virtual building tour.

WWF’s mission is to stop nature loss and protect biodiversity. We work in nearly 100 countries, collaborating with people to develop and deliver innovative solutions that protect communities, wildlife, and the places where they live—and help people and nature thrive. Discover our work.
