The global food system is responsible for 80% of deforestation, 70% of freshwater usage, and over 25% of CO2 emissions. Innovations and technologies play a crucial role in reducing the food system’s use of global resources. Early-stage companies with these innovations and solutions often face a myriad of barriers including low funding, unwelcoming policy environments, and lack of access to markets. Impact investing and catalytic capital provide invaluable access to resources that these companies need to accelerate their growth and bring their solutions to market.
