WASHINGTON - World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has launched "Force for Nature," its new public service advertising campaign enhanced by the remarkable voice of two-time Academy Award winner Jessica Lange and the music of Grammy-nominated John Ondrasik and his band Five for Fighting. 'Terrasong' featured on the TV spot, was written for and donated exclusively to WWF by the band as a celebration of Mother Earth.
"I was so honored to take part in this campaign for World Wildlife Fund. Never has the need been greater to protect our natural resources and take responsibility for all that we share-the oceans, forests and sky" remarked Ms. Lange. The actress donated her award-winning talents to the PSA and gave an audio interview that further details her commitment to protecting our environment.
Five for Fighting took time out from recording their forthcoming album to write and record 'Terrasong.' "I was inspired to write a song from the perspective of the Earth combined with a theme of getting involved," said Ondrasik, lead singer of Five for Fighting. "Often people make a promise to make a difference, but that should just be the start of it."
"We hope that John's poignant words in 'Terrasong' will inspire viewers to become a force for nature with World Wildlife Fund. We are extremely proud and grateful to have worked so closely with two world class artists who donated their time to help us carry our message to new audiences," said WWF president, Kathryn Fuller.
Audience members interested in learning what they can do to protect the Earth will be guided to send for a free WWF Action Kit. Along with Ondrasik's music, the PSAs stunning video of wildlife, wild spaces and people will remind viewers of all that is at stake in protecting the world we share.
