Bush Administration Turns its Back on the Climate

Statement by Jennifer Morgan Director, Climate Change Campaign

"The latest Bush Administration statement on the Kyoto Protocol clearly demonstrates the Administration's disconnection from the American public, our international allies, the scientific community and the sectors of business that are moving forward and taking action to reduce the threat of global warming.

"WWF had hoped the Bush Administration would take at least one step forward instead of taking two more steps backwards. If the Administration tries to walk away from the Kyoto Protocol, it will not only be turning its back on wildlife threatened by global warming, but also turning its back on America's international allies who have worked for nine years to get to this vital point in environmental protection."
