WASHINGTON - May 14, 2009 -- This Father’s Day, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is making it easy to celebrate the special men in your life, especially those with a love of the great outdoors, with thoughtful and practical donation “thank you” gifts from the WWF Online Gift Center at www.worldwildlife.org/giving.
Just in time for summer, WWF offers a wide variety of gifts designed to give fathers, brothers, sons and grandfathers more enjoyment throughout the warm weather season. When you make a donation of $50 or $100 to WWF through its online gift center, the special man in your life will receive a “thank you” gift of your choosing from WWF. Gift choices include a wide array of stylish summertime apparel, especially geared to men who love the outdoors. With each donation, your gift does “double-duty” - by supporting WWF’s work to protect the natural world and by giving your special someone a gift they can enjoy this summer and beyond.
Gift choices, all featuring WWF’s distinctive and widely recognized panda logo, include:
- Baseball caps
- Hooded sweatshirts
- Water bottles and more
In addition, donors who make a symbolic animal adoption donation of $50 or $100 can select a soft plush animal from a collection of more than 90 species, wrapped in a WWF-exclusive gift package. These gifts arrive enclosed in a soft bag, decorated for Father’s Day, plus an adoption certificate, a color photo of the adopted animal, and a species fact sheet—all shipped free via priority mail.
These animal adoptions can be selected to “match” individual personalities or celebrate the special interests of the recipient, such as a regal lion plush for “the king of the jungle,” or a bald eagle or bison for fathers to show a deep sense of patriotism.
These gifts support WWF’s worldwide conservation efforts, including fighting threats like habitat loss and poaching, pollution and climate change. In fact, 82% of all donations to WWF go directly toward supporting WWF’s vital conservation programs around the globe, like WWF’s ambitious conservation initiative in the Amazon that will protect an area the size of California by the year 2010.
“This Father’s Day, honor the special men in your life and help protect the natural world they care about with a donation to WWF,” says Terry Macko, Vice President, World Wildlife Fund. “WWF makes it easy to find a meaningful gift for those who share a passion for nature by making available a wide variety of choices. Not only will they be delighted with their gifts, but you will also be helping conserve the living planet through your donation.”
The online deadline for gifts to arrive for Father’s Day (6/21) is June 11. Orders can be placed at www.worldwildlife.org/giving.
