In response to today’s third quarter report on U.S. solar energy growth by the Solar Energy Industries Association, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) released the following statement from Keya Chatterjee, director of renewable energy outreach:
“The record quarterly growth of residential rooftop solar tells us that Americans are seeing the light and shifting to renewable energy. They are embracing solar in droves, reducing their personal impact on climate change and their monthly power bill.
“One home at a time, rooftop solar is steadily weaning our nation from its dangerous dependence on dirty fossil fuels. As costs come down and installation options grow, rooftop solar has the potential to be the catalyst that spurs the reinvention of how our entire nation powers our homes.
“This is what a renewable energy future looks like, with more and more of our neighbors switching to energy sources that keep our air clean and minimize our impact on climate change.”
