Stopping To Take Notice: Senate Continues Hearing On Climate Change

Statement By Jennifer Morgan, Director, WWF Climate Change Campaign

"Because of America's energy policies, places that Americans love are threatened by global warming. World Wildlife Fund is happy to see Senator John McCain take this threat to the world's natural environment seriously by continuing to hold hearings on climate change.

"The scientific findings of the U.S. National Assessment show that, to defend the nation's wildlife and wild spaces, we must act now to combat global warming. This can be done by enacting sensible clean energy policies to cut global warming pollution. Florida's coral reefs, Colorado's alpine meadows, and America's coastal shorelines could be fundamentally altered according to this report. We can't afford to lose the fight against global warming."
