WWF Statement on Introduction of Legislation to Establish Seafood Traceability

In reaction to today’s introduction of H.R. 3282, the Protecting Honest Fisherman Act of 2015, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) issued the following statement from Michele Kuruc, Vice President of Ocean Policy:

“Global black market fishing is a serious problem with major impacts to our oceans and global food security.

"Congress has clearly demonstrated, from both sides of the aisle, that they recognize the problem and are working toward a meaningful solution. The Administration must heed the call to action represented here and pursue actions that will ensure that all seafood sold in the United States is fully traceable to legal sources.”
