WWF Statement on the Introduction of The Jobs and Trade Competitiveness Act

In response to today’s introduction of H.R. 2756, The Jobs and Trade Competitiveness Act, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) issued the following statement from Todd Shelton, vice president of US government relations:

“By holding the global community accountable, this legislation provides important means to crack down on the illegal trade in seafood and timber that threatens global resources and American incomes. Providing the federal government with new tools and greater resources to enforce the environmental commitments made by US trading partners helps boost American competitiveness while promoting environmentally sustainable trade.”
