Following the closure of the One Planet Summit, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) issued the following statement from Lou Leonard, senior vice president, climate change and energy:
"Two years into the Paris Agreement, unleashing large-scale investments and new action to solve the climate crisis is more critical than ever. The good news is that new leaders – like businesses and local governments – came to the summit to say they are ready to take up the challenge.
"If the goals of the Paris Agreement are to remain within reach, more leaders from business, cities and other local governments need to step forward in 2018 with new action. In the US, local leaders driving the We Are Still In movement are picking up the charge. They are not only helping their local communities, they are also seizing the economic opportunity low-carbon technologies represent."
