Green Road Infrastructure Guidelines

The Green Road Infrastructure Guidelines (GRI) or Lineamientos de Infraestructura Verde Vial are detailed planning and technical guidelines that integrate environmental, climate, social, economic, and engineering considerations throughout the lifecycle of road infrastructure projects. They are designed to prevent, mitigate, and correct possible indirect and direct negative environmental impacts of road construction and to support national and local development while maintaining the surrounding ecosystems and communities. These guidelines go beyond greening road planning, design, and construction, to address the integration of land use planning and strengthening communication between communities, government, and the private sector.
